The School Food Project was created to change the way kids eat at school, and to transform cafeterias into “culinary classrooms for students.” The goal is to ensure all children in the Boulder Valley School District have daily access to fresh, flavorful and nutritious food. Vermilion was pleased to donate a logo to this worthy cause and we’re now at work on a new website for the program. Congrats to Whole Foods for sponsoring the fund raising effort!

Team Vermilion takes the field

July 6, 2009

Sports teams are not exactly what makes Vermilion tick. In fact, we’re more solo oriented. One of our crew can ride to Crested Butte and back. Many board or ski. Singles tennis is about the most social we get. Well, one person refs roller derby events, if that counts. So it was a bit of a stretch to field a kickball team for Ad2Denver’s third annual kickball tourney. Thanks to captains Lorena and Ani for pulling us together. Of course, designing the uniform took precedence over anything a mundane as practice. But it paid off. We clearly had the best looking jerseys on the field. And we were the envy of all other teams in another category: when we learned kegs of Coors Light were going to be supplied, we had to bring our own keg of Avery IPA. As to performance, well, let’s just say we did win one game. In a chug off. Thanks to Mike for that win!
